Our task as you and your friend Adam describe here is the equivalent of tearing down a brick wall with our bare hands. We have allowed genuinely evil forces to entirely take over the higher education system in the Western world. They are entrenched and will continue to spew these bllod libels until they are stopped and I don't know how they can be stopped. I would bet that around 75 percent of the left wing young Americans who support "Palestine" genuinely believe the lie that Israel is deliberately committing atrocities and murder, that Israel occupies "Palestine: in a way no different than the oppression of South Aftica in aphartheid days and believe that Netanyahu is a murderous dictator on the level of Putin or Assad. They really believe this because it is what they have been taught by college professors and also by mainstream media which parrots the Palestinian lies and even at the lowe educational levels where teachers who have been trained by the evil professors are teaching children. It is an awful mess and I honestly don't know what is to be done.
I completely agree with you. It's a dire threat to Jewish wellbeing in North America and there are no obvious solutions. The threat is systemic and they are still getting stronger here in Canada and even in the US measures taken so far don't seem to have done much to stop them.
Lovely piece! I did hear a You Tube piece by the Palestinian young man you quoted... I was most impressed by what he said and how he said it. He was heckled and then told he was too lengthy... He just countered that he would not be interrupted and allowed to finish what he had to say, things would go much smoother... I am paraphrasing. Unfortunately that did not deter his hecklers much, although the interruptions were a few less and a bit toned down... My wish is that all Palestinians could talk and be allowed to talk like he does...
I don't know if anyone can convince anyone of anything these days. It is so easy to create and spread fake news. I read an article on "Paliwood" where they stage false news for their own narrative. I'm delighted that you have found voices that cut through the noise. I think that you "cut through the noise", so thank you. But I still worry that we only listen to voices whose opinions already mirror our own.
I have made friends on Facebook who I have, by now, met in real life. Some are of my political orientation and some are not. It is daunting for sure to have to cope with the de-legitimization (to put it politely and mildly). Regarding Ahmed, I am not so enamoured of him. Yes, he is anti-Hamas but that is not enough. I wrote an article about him back in September (https://ozsheri.substack.com/p/ahmed-fouad-alkhatib-proud-american). Maybe he has changed since then. But this is part of my conclusion from that article:
"Nothing new here. I don’t think he says anything that has not been said IN ENGLISH by some Palestinian leaders. While many are honest only in Arabic about their desire to see Jews dead and gone from here, there are other Palestinian leaders who have no qualms saying it in English. There is some hint in Alkhatib’s words that he does not (necessarily) want us dead and gone. I get the idea that if we were to be weaker and vanquishable, he would join the ranks of those who would be happy to see us gone. I guess this means that I don’t find him particularly believable."
Hi Sheri. I'm impressed with his daily denunciation of Hamas and his harsh criticism of the "pro-Palestine" demonstrators on US campuses. He says things about Israel that I don't agree with, but he does seem to be an example of a Palestinian voice who is consistently anti-Hamas, who acknowledges the truth that Hamas is responsible for the war and that Hamas is attacking Palestinians who are demanding an end to the war and an end to Hamas rule.
He avoids dehumanizing language about Israel. His mothers day post today expresses his concern for Israeli mothers as well as those in Gaza. This is the kind of rational voice that we need on the other side if there is ever to be an accommodation that will allow for peaceful coexistence.
I have followed a few Gazan ex-pats who were and are consistently against Hamas beginning even before Sinwar was killed. It makes little impression on me re their willingness to live with us in peace. Re Ahmed, I will be happy to verify his sincerity if he ever applies for Israeli citizenship after we finally extend our sovereignty to ALL the lands we liberated in 1967.

And let's be honest. It's a serious threat to the survival of liberal civilization itself. As always, the Jews are the canary in the coalmine.

Omain v'omain! Thanks for the work you do! It won't persuade the enemy but it will encourage the faithful. We have had such Jews in our midst forever.
To hell with them because their message come from something sick in their hearts, self-hate.
