According to her, the western mainstream media long ago moved on from October 7, and is now primarily interested in the destruction in Gaza and the need to get food to displaced Gazans. In this scenario, Israel and the IDF are the aggressors, and Gaza and Gazans are the victims of that aggression. That’s an important reason why the false number of casualties has been so readily accepted. In addition, there is now virtually no mention in the MSM about ongoing rocket attacks on Israel, the displacement of Israelis from northern and southern communities, or the long-forgotten massacre of October 7 (according to one UK newscaster, “the Hamas thing”). According to Samuels, the ongoing plight is Israel and Israelis is therefore minimized or ignored in the media outside Israel.
As sad as war and death is, this article proved to be enlightening and builds pride because as you said "Israel is doing more than any army in history to minimize civilian casualties." Hamas on the other hand, is barbaric and as inverted as Alice in Wonderland, with Hamas leaders able to celebrate every death that they have it in their power to prevent. Because, as you also said, "Hamas could lay down its arms, free the hostages, and end this war tomorrow."
You might ask WHY why does the international media do this? I'll tell you. They are openly on the side of the most murderous National Movement in history. Their hatred of Israel is so extreme they don't care how vile and depraved is the side they are supporting. The Palestinian National Movement has always been built on the murder of Jews and the full destruction of Israel. This has never changed. It predates the state. Now the Movement is led by a literal Islamic death cult. No one cares. As long as they are getting the Jews. The media knows full well they are printing and broadcasting blood labels against the Jewish State. It's their intent.
Since you published this Hamas has formally rejected the cease fire proposal and it is no surprise why. As you note every single time Hamas rejects a proposal the US proposes a better one and puts even more pressure on Israel to comply. This is an outright betrayal of Israel by Biden. Nobody is stupid enough to believe that once a pause is in place Biden will EVER agree to a restart. Netanyahu has not led well in the last 8 months but he has not only had to deal with Hamas and the hostage issue and his own political realities but a United States that is doing everything it can ro prevent Israel from winning the victory it needs to regain some degree of deterrence. Whatever happens Israel cannot allow Hamas to survive in power nor can it allow Hezbollah to continue to threaten northern Israel. Everything Biden has done since December has led Sinwar and the Mullahs to believe 1. Time is on their side 2. They are winning and 3. Israel is going to disappear.
Now Biden is going to the UNSC to finish the betrayal. Does anyone seriously think such an action is aimed at the Hamas war criminals? It's designed to hand cuff Israel. Sure enough the State Department released a statement before that said the most important thing is getting a cease fire, details can be worked out later. The most important thing is destroying Hamas. The second most important thing is recovering the people they kidnapped who are still alive. A cease fire is incompatible with both of those things but Biden doesn't care. His treachery is astounding.
I see no way this advances the interests of Bibi. It ensures Israeli defeat in the war and doesn't even return all the hostages. It won't advance the interests of Biden either and it deeply harms the Western security alliance by informing Iran as well as China that there is no situation in which the leader, the United States won't ultimately buckle. It's a total disaster as is everything Biden has done to hinder Israel.
